I was talking about 240V split phase which is the standard in the USA. ANd split phase is the same as two-phase (180 degrees apart).
The inverter in question did not say it could do 230v (or 240 v) split phase or two phase and so wont work with standard house wiring unless a big heavy split phase 60 Hz transformer is also used.
