Yea. That only took me about 3 years to figure out. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Reasoner, Bob (PHES) Sent: Wednesday, June 30, 2004 11:11 AM To: Exchange Discussions Subject: RE: pst file issue
This problem is worsened if you have a handheld device that is left in the cradle when you close Outlook as only the Interactive part of Outlook closes then. You have to pop the device (or kill the sync software) to allow Outlook to finish closing. Yes. Outlook apparently does not actually close a PST file when you choose the "Close" option. It keeps the file handle open, and the file locked, until you exit Outlook. Whether this poor design or poor implementation, I do not know. Every version of Outlook I have ever used has had this problem. Well, I'm not sure if I've tested it using 2003, but 2002, 2000, 98, and 97 all do. -- Ben Scott <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> | The opinions expressed in this message are those of the author and do | | not represent the views or policy of any other person or organization. | | All information is provided without warranty of any kind. | _________________________________________________________________ List posting FAQ: http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Web Interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/cgi-bin/lyris.pl?enter=exchange&text_mode=& lang=english To unsubscribe send a blank email to %%email.unsub%% Exchange List admin: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
