OK, so if the original opens OK, does the CD version? Bad CD burn perhaps?
Recopy it from CD to disk on the original machine and see if there's a
difference. Next step would be client compatibility. Are the client versions
the same? You say exchange 5.5 client; is the user using exchange client on
the original PC or outlook?
You created a .pst file. How? Where was the original mail stored if not in a
.pst, since he was using POP?
