I'm evaluating server-based software to remove large attachments from email,
put it in the file system, and replace it with a link. So far so good, but
I have two concerns:
1. When an attachment that appears in more than one mailbox is removed, I
would guess that SIS is lost. And I'm wondering if that would end up taking
up more disk space than before?
2. When attachments are removed, so is the paper clip icon. The user has
no way of knowing which messages have attachments, or be able to sort them
by that field. That could make searches very difficult. Any experiences of
that sort?
