Yes that will "can" happen if you inst the disk with a partition on it! Put in a fresh disk, or a wiped one. Then assign it a letter after creating the partition. In diskadmin, youll see it is now listed as disk 0, but who cares. I have done this in the past to cure bad situations. jlc
