i hope none of us sneer (tries not to). .muttrc is really very rational when read in conjunction with help dox: Mutt doesn't try to do everything for you & then fail, but leaves you to do your part by reading the dox first & editing .muttrc , then once you've taken the trouble to do that, it's very simple & reliable. but as you say, to each his own ...
