For autocross, brake pad compounds make a big difference.  Unlike the road race 
cars, we don't get a chance to really heat up our brakes before the first turn, 
so we need compound that is good when cold, but is consistent as the 
temperature rises later in the run or on future runs without causing bias 
issues.

As for pressure, if you are on Hoosier tires, I believe you will have better 
luck in the 11-12psi range all around.  Lower pressure at one end of the car to 
adjust balance.  Hoosier Tom insists that the sky will fall (run the tire off 
the rim) if you go below 10psi, but I do know of some cars running less 
pressure.

Depending on who is driving the Ford and how well prepared it is, 1.4 seconds 
could be pretty decent, but there are quite a few slow FF cars and drivers out 
there.  The PAX index (see

of how you are doing against other classes.
