Okay , now that makes sense. I never thought of it that way. As I
remember on an old thread, the cost to have a Kawi cylinder rebuilt is
about what a new one cost. There are some on Ebay right now that are
$150 for the pair (brand new). If I thought I was going to be running
Kawi for the next 10 years, I would buy them , but I hope to be running
Rotax for '08.

Bill,

The Kawasaki does not have liners or sleeves, it has a chrome surface on
the
aluminum cylinder. The Rotax does have sleeves and thus can be
re-sleeved.
A Kawasaki cylinder that has a steel sleeve in it would be illegal for
SCCA
road racing. Not sure about the auto-cross rules.

Yes, the Rotax can be overbored one time by 0.010"

The Kawasaki cylinders can be rebuilt however.

Richard
