It's planned that Factor 1.0 will come out some time in 2008. Since
2008 starts in less than a month, I think it's around time that we
come up with a solid roadmap to how we're going to achieve that.
Slava's suggested that the addition of new extra vocabs be stopped in
preparation for 1.0, and I agree, though not right now. Here's what we
need to do:

1. Identify critical features that need to be in Factor 1.0 (this is
already sketched out on the Factor website), and assign the
responsibility for that feature to one or more people
2. Create a rigorous quality standard for all extra modules (fully
documented, well-tested, tagged, well-factored, etc) that all should
meet by Factor 1.0
3. Set a target date for the freezing of new extra vocabs (my
suggestion: halfway through the year, on June 31)
4. Set a target date for the release of Factor 1.0 (my suggestion: December 31)

Our current development strategy has been to meander around and make
fun things and incremental improvements. That's a great strategy, and
I'm sure plan for Factor will stop me from making irrelevant,
interesting stuff. But if Factor 1.0 is going to be released in 2008,
we need a solid roadmap and measurable goals.
