When you install the Windows SDK, it makes a cmd prompt link
in the
start menu. Try compiling it from there.
Yes, found it...
I think their prompt does
more than just set the PATH, but I haven't researched it.
...Just tried the nmake command from the SDK command box (yellow text), and
it produces a different error:
F:\media\Repositories\Factor>nmake /f Nmakefile x86-32

pen include file: 'windows.h': No such file or directory

A global search shows that windows.h is in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Include
and in
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\7.1\Include
Once you get nmake working, there's a script that can build
and
bootstrap Factor:
build-support\factor.cmd
os-windows.hpp \vm has one of these
#include <windows.h>
which is failing.
Strangely, there is no INCLUDE environment variable. I added one, including
'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\7.1\Include' in it, and this made
no difference. Clearly, nmake is not looking in the right places for
include files when it fails to find one in the local directory. I must be
missing something obvious.
