I've read plenty of ayurvedic books plus taken courses on ayurveda (the 
best way to learn).  I found his mantras worked.  I use them as adjunct 
mantras rather than a primary mantra.  Ranade was one of David Frawley's 
teachers and I have spoken with Frawley on the issue of meditation 
disorders.
