Actually what he is saying is that TM has NO parampara, or direct lineage,
since MMY has never claimed to be a Guru or claimed to be passing along Guru
Dev's direct Sadhana, to my understanding.

Guru Dev is merely the guiding light of the technique that MMY himself, either
rediscovered or contrived from Vedic/Hindu sources; it works, along with other
techniques as well that have their origins in India.

Many Religions don't even have a successor since no one was qualified to fill
their boots, ie. enlightened! (Sikhs, SRF, others) In order to have a genuine
parampara in the spiritual sense the Guru must be the embodiment of the
knowledge and not just pay lip service to it, and come from a lineage that also
are enlightened.....

TM has no parampara, as Charlie used to say, "with TM you're given the
technique and you're on your own" (paraphrased).

Eventually you will need a Sat-Guru or an enlightened Master who will, as
Charlie has said, "will introduce you to God". You see, the astral and causal
realms of consciousness require expert guidance to cross, that is where the
role of the Master is most potent.

If MMY isn't enlightened he will be unable to perform this task for you,
however, what's the rush, most meditators, of any discipline are far from the
impending need of a Sat Guru anyway, IMO.

The meaning of Parampara is this:
Parampara (Sanskrit: परम्परा,
paramparā) denotes a succession of teachers and disciples in traditional
Indian culture. It is also known as guru-shishya paramparā, succession
from guru to disciple. In the paramparā system, knowledge (in any field)
is passed down (undiluted) through successive generations. The Sanskrit word
literally means an uninterrupted series or succession.[1] In the traditional
residential form of education, the shishya remains with his guru as a family
member and gets the education as a true learner. (Wiki)
