Ray (and rampant scotch lovers),
 
I like a bit of spirits but never really tried scotch.  Can you recommend a 
beginner level scotch I can find in Oz-tralia?

My  bias is Glenfiddich, so any blend is about "how close does it get?"  
Grant's, obviously, because Grant makes Glenfiddich.  If I'm looking at a 
blend, I'm OK with Dwar's White Lable and J&B.  If I'm drinking Johnny Walker, 
I'll take black or red, but I'm just not a huge fan of the brand.  Gold's not 
bad, but I'm just not a fan of the style.
