It's a touchy subject and I don't want to ruffle any feathers. I'm not against drilling, just drilling too close to homes and schools (urban drilling). A town that surrounds mine has 300 ft setbacks and that is it. Our town is implementing 1,500 ft. but I don't think that is enough. I think it needs to be out in the boonies where it can't hurt the water supply, our health, pets, livestock, etc. The drillers just need to do it safely. It's ridiculous how many leaks gas wells have. People here call Williams Drilling Co....."Spillman's" That's how bad it is! I can write a book!! people need to watch Josh Fox's movie Gasland....it's real, true stories. Google Dish, TX with Calvin Tillman, he recently moved from his town and he was the Mayor. He's now very active, even with drilling in PA. Also, Google Tim Ruggiero and read his experience he had when he leased his mineral rights. It's the kids that I feel sorry for. They have nose bleeds so bad that he said their bedrooms look like a murder seen....ok, I'm done.

This is a Fell blog....right? My apologies if I offended anyone but this is real and it IS happening.

Sounds like the FDA is no different than the TCEQ (Texas Commission on
Environmental Quality) or the RRC (Railroad Commission) on the
drilling/fracking issues we have in my home town.

We have dogs with rare forms of cancer caused by drilling. All were healthy
until drilling occurred close to their property. Coincidence? I think
not....

We have a cluster of kids in my town with leukemia. My friend was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, which generally effect elderly African-Amer men. She
is a Caucasian and less than 40 yrs. old. One of her doctor's asked her if
she ever lived by gas wells, guess what her answer was? Yup, you are
correct.

Sorry for the rant, I'm sick of these agencies/gov that don't protect us
like they should.

We were "talking" about the FDA last week - here's another perfect example
of how one cannot even trust them on something as simple as sunscreen
ingredients! And all this, WITH what we think are strict regulations - and
those who want to do away with ALL regulations, making it easier for big
corporations to make more money, makes one wonder whether they ever
consider
even their own families in their quest for more and more profits?

Whom can one trust, if the FDA, supposedly protecting us from bad things,
has known all this? What else is it they keep under their hats?

Study: Many sunscreens increase skin cancer risk, FDA has known for a
decade but done nothing

A new report issued by the consumer protection organization Environmental
Working Group (EWG) reveals that many popular sunscreens contain
ingredients
known to spur the growth and spread of skin cancer cells, which defeats
their stated purpose...
