Like most pianists in contemporary music, this one is familiar with the 8va
treble clef -- but he finds the Finale clef's '8' too small (and I agree).
A bolder clef alteration would be welcome, if anyone has access to one. I
might resort to designing a special 8va treble and 8va bass for my own use.

Back in the late '60s, before clefs with 8s attached became commonplace, I devised two clefs of very distinctive appearance, one reading 2 octaves above the treble and the other two octaves below the bass. I have used these in almost every piece I have written since, and I've created a version of Petrucci that includes them. Anyone who wants a copy can have one (Mac only, I'm afraid). Just let me know.
