Try the Expand-Contract feature within the Staff List Manager in TGTools.
It's the closest we have to what you're after!
Good lord -- how did I not see this! Has this feature always been in Staff List Manger? Somehow I never saw it. I feel like an idiot now. But at least my score layout will go more smoothly. It's not automated (like my dream plugin), but it is a fantastic feature.
