Richard--

Yes. Using Finale's new simple entry you can use a MIDI keyboard. (For me
personally, I prefer it to speedy in most situations)

My question is, is there some relationship between MIDI entry and the new
Simple Entry? I'm having a really hard time imagining what can be so great
about entering a five-note chord one note at a time (the old Simple) vs. all
at once (the old Speedy). I'm using "old" since I know not how these tool(s)
have changed. One can move very fast with Speedy Entry; it's hard to imagine
being faster with Simple. Can someone illuminate this?

Under the "old" Simple one not only had to click one note at a time but had
to carefully aim the cursor so as not to click the wrong space or line and
thus undo the work.
