Hi, I don't think you need any special soundcard. All you need to do is select the new Midi device that Finale installs - the SmartMusic SoftSynth.
Aaron, did you do that? And if you don't like the sound, just download a different one from one of those free soundfont sites and replace the file synthgms.sf2 in the Component Files folder.
