Maybe they've scanned their registered users files along with U.S. Postal Service employee records and have determined that no Postal Service employees will ever be likely to want to own a copy of Finale and therefore can be safely trusted handling everybody's serial number?

Imagine that first postal clerk that gets all those pre-sorted bulk-mail flyers! EVERY existing Finale serial number in one unprotected location! Maybe that's why we don't get them in nearly as timely a manner as we get those e-mail messages! Somebody is writing down all those serial numbers so that they can be sold on the black market and people will no longer have to search for cracked versions -- for a fee they will be able to purchase a valid Finale serial number!

Nice to know that MakeMusic is so very, very protective of this program they want to inconvenience us all with copy protection! Too bad they can't be as conscientious as they want us to be!

Hi all,

In today's mail, I found a nice glossy flier for Finale 2003. What appears on the address label, right above my name and address? Why, my Finale serial number, of course!

Aaron.
