On the topic of whether to convert old files from page to system, I said I don't advocate it, and I don't. But if you really wanted to convert, my Page Mover plugin will do it with a single button-click. (It automatically adjusts all your page text, too.) The thing is, unless you plan to use system redux from the start, you don't really gain any of its advantages.
