Er, Windows XP was the one that was a cheap and poorly done ripoff of OS X. Many of the things that OS X has in it (fully pre-emptive multi- tasking, virtual memory, ACLs, etc.) have been in NT-based Windows for well over 10 years. But I'm not going to say or even imply that OS X was ripping off Windows, since Windows had those things only because they were part of a modern operating system's regular architecture and feature set. The crime is that that Mac users had to wait so incredibly long to get a modern operating system. But, in case you want to defend your stance on Longhorn and OS X, do tell exactly which features of Longhorn (i.e., features that were absent in any previous version of Windows) are ripped off from OS X. I'm all ears. -- David W.
