"Easy to learn" is a laudable goal.

But "easy to use" might be a better *long-term* goal. 

To me, that's the difference between Speedy and Simple -- speedy is 
faster once you've learned it, while Simple is quick to learn, but 
never gets you the speed of Speedy (at least for people with good 
keyboard skills, and I mean *both* keyboards, computer and MIDI).
