I have a one measure second ending at the end of a system. The one note in the measure is the end of a tied note. I need a tie that ends on that note but starts in empty space. I made a tie and pulled it backwards, but there is now a loose tie end at the start of the next system. How can I get rid of this? I made it real small and hid it on top of a nearby notehead but this seems rather inelegant (and hazardous if respacing is done).
