Assuming you want to have Apple's X11 installed, do the following:
1) run
sudo dpkg --remove --force-depends xfree86-shlibs
2) reinstall the X11User and X11SDK packages.
3) Check and see that you have system-xfree86, system-xfree86-shlibs and system-xfree86-dev.

Having not done a whole lot of dependency solving on my own in the past, how do I go about solving the unmet dependencies listed? I tried apt-get -f install, as it suggests, with the following result:
sudo apt-get -f install
