Gail, my father was a Cavalry officer from World War 1 and taught my brother
and I at tender ages to ride like bats out of "h___! in english saddles.
First recall I have is age six. So when I tried my first western I felt in
an odd position. We rode western then for some years and when I went to
college it was back to english. I was very embarrassed to end my first trot
in the english saddle with both leathers and stirrups hanging from the toe
of my boots.
