Hi Melinda,

My 4 are out 24-7 with run ins.  I used to put them in during lightening storms 
until a friend told me that her barn had been struck by lightening and caught 
fire.  Her animals would have died if they'd been in.
So, unless you live up on a high hill when the horses would be the tallest 
things around, I'd leave them out.
We've had storms almost daily for the last couple of weeks and as soon as it 
clouds up and starts to blow my horses are out and happy to be cool in the wind 
and rain.
