Microsoft claims that Arial Unicode comes installed with XP, but we have found that's not the case. We ended up buying a license. Maybe if we had pushed MS enough we would have gotten the font they claim is installed, but it wasn't worth the time and effort for us. We did have good luck with CCJK when we embedded Arial Unicode, though.
