Hello Pete,

Have you tried configuring your computer to use the Delta44 for 
'regular' Windows sound processing rather than your on-board soundcard, 
and then seeing if audio from music cd's, or the typical Windows beeps 
'n bops sounds normal or is distorted?

Alternatively, (or additionally) you could configure PowerSDR to use 
your on-board card temporarily, just to see if the crackle is still 
present.
