In the very first AJO ready software there was a lot of debug code that really slowed the VFO/mouse knob response. I imagine the same delay reading PA power A/Ds sent cal routines and such out into the woods. Maybe Bill put this on his todo list back then, but the gods have smiled on him and taken care of things in the mean time.
