If you read the QST review this month, it says the SSB transmit audio is "simply amazing" the best they have ever heard.
Also, John Basilotto, the COO and marketing motivator, as a bit of a reputation as a perfectionist in the SSB world so the 5000 was designed from the beginning to be one of the best sounding rigs in the world. I think the recent discussion had more to do with the audio chain in rigs in general. I owned a W2ihy equalizer with an inexpensive (-+100 buck) mike with my old rigs (althought I must admit that I hardly ever use it), but with the 5000, I just bypass the EQ part and just use the line section to the 5000 (I do use balanced connectors fwiw) Get on the air and enjoy! 73 Neal On Fri, Jun 6, 2008 at 1:39 PM, Jon <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I just ordered a Flex 5000 and have been reading the posts about the > mic and audio.
