Well boys and girls, looks like I started this by asking when to expect the 
update...  sorry about that. I can add that I would prefer to wait than rush 
into something that is not ready. i was one of the first users of the 
ftdx9000d. Yaesu released it way to early trying to catch up with the icom 
7800. They were sorry they released early and had headaches for 3 years, and 
headaches again on the upgrades. The new and upgraded 9000's are spectacular. 
Yaesu promised to begin the upgrades during october of 2008 and missed that 
date by 8 months. They did not keep us updated on the new schedule or when we 
would be called in. that upset a lot of loyal customers. Eventually we all were 
called in and taken care of. the upgraded 9000 was worth waiting for, however 
the communication could have been better.
