Possibly what compounds the problem is the fact that the antenna is an end
fed Hertz which is inherently unbalanced and will present RF on the shield
back to the radio.
I have a brand new 5000A, fully loaded (including the VHF/UHF board).
Station is completely new -- new QTH, new Mic (PR 781), new temporary
antenna (Miracle MMD 30m).
