New mac's been operating as my primary computer for over a month and all
the same files have been working fine until it started this last
wednesday. Initially I thought it was probably just that one file but it
seems to have 'spread' to whatever solution I'm working on. All fonts
are standard arial as thats the way I like to keep it. (I have tried and
used many different fonts in my commercial solutions over the past 20
years but have now settled on arial for convenience and a clean
screen). I might try and 'play' with the same solutions for a while on
my pc to see if its the computer or filemaker.

One file maybe, but not likely more than one IMO, too much of a
coincident I think. Unless, they are not part of the same solution.,
then maybe.
How long has this New Mac been the center of attention? Did the files
ever work on it?
Check the Fonts and see if the ones in the solution are actually
installed. i.e. Font Book.

Thats what I thought too, but its happening to too many totally
different solutions with no link between any of them apart from using
the same computer. In fact one solution is brand new this morning as
i just started to create a new one and its doing the same. The only
common denominator is the computer and filemaker 9. Maybe I had
better re install it. By the way its 9 advanced not just 9

when ever a file starts acting different, or displaying a symptoms
that you haven't seen before, or is Odd, it is a pretty good
indication that your file has corruption in it.

If you weren't using a Mac I'd say it was a video card issue.

I'm currently working on a couple of projects and referring to
older ones.
I'm running Leopard 10.5.4 with FM 9.0v3
I've never seen the strange things that are happening on a layout
in all
solutions.
When you click on a field or text in the layout normally, the
four black
dots denoting its location appear around the item. For some
inexplicable
reason and at varying times these four black dots are appearing
some 3
inches above the item selected. Its only started to happen over
the past 2
days.
If you then select 'Browse' and return to the layout and select
the same
field everything is fine. It doesn't seem to be a problem other
than having
to go back and forth from browse mode.
Anybody else ever experienced this anomaly
