The answer has been found. Its a mac thing. I can recreate the problem. Sometimes when FM is open in layout mode and you have clicked on a field/text with the four black dots displayed then dropped down to the right corner of the screen and use the maximise feature on Leopard that swirls the minimised file up onto the screen, the four black dots immediately dislocate as the other program is built on the screen in that swirly motion. It did it everytime I tested it, then I shut the computer down and tried again, the next time it was fine, however, when it did do it again i tried the same thing and as the opening program came up from the right corner of the screen the black dots dislocated to about 2-3" higher on the screen thatn the actual field. So its not every time but it is related to the mac redrawing the screen as it swirls up. No doubt upsetting some graphic card location.

Anybody else ever experienced this anomaly

Actually, yes. I've experienced the same thing from time to time, not consistently, and have no idea what the cause is but have treated it as a cosmetic glitch only. Perhaps an odd FM + video driver artifact?
