They did make it easier. They put it in the Help menu of FileMaker Pro so you don't even have to search for it on their website. Go to "Help - > Send us your Feedback" and the landing page you reach has links for both product bugs and feature requests.
Recently they've moved bug reporting away from the "black hole" of a web form submission and into their forums (although the web submission page is still active). There you might actually get some sort of acknowledgement that it is a bug.
