Yes, I'd be curious as to how a third machine acted when getting in
remotely. If a third is not available, I might try hosting on the
macbook and clienting from the G4. Those might narrow down your issue.

I've tried re-installing FMP10a, also. No improvement either.
There is something definitely 'odd' about all of this.
