Yes! Remember, though, that SDT files required the presence of SDT.CFG with
reference to adequate libraries for the schematics.

This is a very common problem, and this is why I announced what I found.
For the other side of this coin, OrCAD PCB (including earlier versions of
Layout) can be taken up to v.9 using Layout Lite, available on request from
OrCAD as a demo CD, as I recall. Layout Lite will refuse to save the file
if it is larger than the demo limit, but the translation has already been
done and written as a .MAX file, and Protel can import it.

I think -- I am not sure -- that the version of Capture which is on the
demo CD will also function in a similar way; so if you can wait for Cadence
to send the demo CD, it will save a long download. Further, the demo does
not require a net login.
