To anybody following this thread,
when reading some responses to my original post I realized that my
explanation might have been a bit lacking. The "pregnant pauses" that I see
are between the two keystrokes of certain commands, they are not after the
entry of the full command.
For instance I can press "X" to deselect, I get a significant pause,
then I get the secondary menu and I can press "A" for all. If I just press
"X" "A" in immediate sequence, I get the secondary menu showing up a few
seconds later and the program apparently didn't react to my "A" key stroke
and I have to enter the "A" again. Similarly I get the same response to
other two key shortcuts like "V" "R" for view redraw, "E" "M" "G" for move
polygon vertices (2 pregnant pauses) or "Z" "W" for zoom window. I probably
get them elsewhere as well but these are the operations I commonly use
shortcut keys to access rather then the toolbar buttons.
Therefore "I" conclude that this is not the usual pauses caused by
the analyzing net issues or other processing issues, as I believe that those
pauses occur only after and not between keystrokes of a single command
sequence.
Any comments Colby? I hope that you might have something up your
sleeve of tricks to point me in the right direction to a resolution.
