Hi Brad.
We're running Protel99se SP6 on NT4 SP6a and I notice the exact problem you
describe as "pregnant pauses" and only in the PCB editor. As said earlier,
this never existed until 99se (I don't know about 99). I initially thought
it may have something to do with scanning for mouse movement as this seemed
to wake Protel up to the keystrokes, however I have concluded this is not
the case. This was the case in an early version of PCAD (4.5?) and I had a
brief moment of reminiscence (gr?). It would be great if someone could
solve this.
Brad, a small point but it might save the overuse of your "E" key. I've
found using "E" to access the Edit menu sub-commands is redundant, eg. to
move polygon vertices just use "M"-"G". At worst this eliminates one of
those annoying pregnant pauses!
Cheers
Brendon.
