I just remembered this delay also occurs with mouse clicks.  I single or
double click on an object and nothing seems to happen for a second or two.
Sometimes during the delay I move the mouse in anticipation and whatever
object happens to be under the pointer at the time the s/w wakes up becomes
the object in focus, instead of the intended object.  This can be annoying!

Maybe the "hotkey" and "mouseclick" circuits are suffering some propagation
delay?! Does Tx'n line theory extend to s/w? ;o)
