Well, the generated rivers have not turned out as well as I had hoped. My main problem at the moment is the near-total lack of documentation for script-fu. I think I need to use something like the GIMP's quick mask feature in order to turn a drawing into a selection, but I have not been able to find out how to do that with a script. In the near term, I think it will be necessary to keep the old hand-drawn rivers.
