I saw little in mpxplay.ini that seemed like it was capable of immediately hanging the system. I commented out UseLFN to no effect. I also changed SoundCardName from AUTO to S16, and mpxplay reported that it could not initialize the card or a message to that effect. Then I changed that to SBP and it hung as before.
