I think this is being talked up a little too much. now Lol... I'm kind of
sorry I even mentioned it...

But if your going to start talking about taking all that stuff out, your
going to pretty much chop off the head of Freevo itself.

I think for users who are genuinely concerned about the legal issues, there
maybe should be a version without the problematical components and codecs.
(Though what you could do with a HTPC system that cannot do very much
escapes me). For those who are unconcerned (like me - as far as I'm
concerned as long as I'm not profiting and not pirating my media what I do
is up to me) there should perhaps be another version. In both cases however,
it should be made as easy and straightforward as possible for users to add
any desired functionality that had been ommited should they so choose.

No one else is all that worried about it right now - and as I said, every
time you watch a DVD on linux at the moment your breaking the law anyway. In
my view some laws are just too absurd to warrant any serious consideration.
And DRM/copy protection laws are among these.

Fair enough if you want to prevent piracy, but there is no good
justification whatsoever in preventing a user from backing up and enjoying
their own piad for media.
