The problem with ongoing privacy measures is that it means going from a 
low-dimensional description to a no-dimensional description.   Empty spots on 
the resume are scary!   To have a truly benign profile, it is necessary to know 
what powerful groups consider benign and to create signatures to mimic it.   If 
ultimately governments, employers. etc. feel then need to know you, then 
perhaps being yourself (somewhat truncated) is the best thing.   That message 
can be controlled and kept consistent.   Not having a digital footprint is a 
situation that can be identified.   Who are these meatspace people and their 
secret cabals?  We can't have that!
