OK will try the mtu setting. how in FP3 for secure remote do you set the MTU and how do you determain the size. The os is XP.
thanks Jon Allingham <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: I've gotten pretty much every secure remote/secure client version since 4.1 to work fine on a DSL line with a PPPoE router. The trick is ensuring that your MTU settings are properly set both in your computer AND in your router, and UDP encapsulation & IKE over TCP are set. The newer versions of SR/SC have MTU negotiation built in and it seems to work pretty well, although interestingly enough, my latest installation of SC R56 on a new laptop with XP didn't work properly and SR/SC computed what I thought was a bad MTU value and I had to manually set the MTU value and disable MTU path detection to keep it from over-riding my value. -----Original Message----- From: Steck, Steffen M. I finally installed SR 56 and chose "install secure client" during the installation menu. Anyways, I have no SC license so the installed SC behaves like SR with the nice side effect that it now works from behind nearly any adsl router. Try it and you'll be up and running.
