and that "hardened" linux is questionable and has been tampered and
hacked by at least one well known german IT magazine, and I bet by
others as well. stay away! I'd recommend Nokia, they have a proven and
successfull platform and offer a broad range of easy to manage
appliances with versatile configurations. Nokia has been the platform
choice for many years for a lot of Checkpoint customers. BTW: They come
with free clustering/load-balancing, no additional Checkpoint licenses
needed!

The new Crossbeam stuff is said to be good too, but they are very
expensive compared to Nokia and only offer 2-3 different machines.

Stay aways from SPLAT if you want it secure.
