Hi all,
Our current firewall appliances suffer from performance issues when some of
the application layer checks in smartdefense (especially http and dns
checks) are switched on. So, we are planning to buy new appliances. I
wonder
if you could share your opinions about the pros and cons of employing nokia
platforms compared to other platforms (like sun, hp, etc.)?
What make us concern about the nokia platforms is that memory is limited to
a max of 2 GB, no info about what cpu is used, etc. However, some guys say
that nokia platforms are optimized for firewall usage particularly for
checkpoint, and a nokia with 2 GB memory will be comparable to other
platforms having 4 GB of memory. I'll be glad if you share your opinions or
point out any document that will help.
