Hi, I just joined the list :-) Concerning Pismos and iBooks (366/466 clamshell models):
A) What's the real max RAM? Someone on ebay said he put 1024MB of RAM in the Pismo 400 he's selling, while the apple spec database says the max is 512. And is the iBook's supposed max is 320...? B) I know there's some kind of expansion bay in the pismos. What could I put in such a bay? One auction mentioned putting an extra hard drive in one. What kind of drive would it have to be and what else (other than the bare drive) would be required? Also, could I fit a 12.5mm 5400RPM drive in there? Would anyone recommend it or would it get too hot? (I'm thinking of a 60GB IBM Travelstar 60GH...anyone used this drive?) Anything else I should know? I'm considering buying either one. Any opinions one way or the other? I know the bus speeds and screen sizes are different, but anything else? Of course the pismo would be more expensive but...
