A) I have 2 512mb chips in my Pismo.  So you can put a Gig in it.  I'm 
not sure why the specs still say differently.

B) I have the following for my expansion bay:

        DVD-ROM
        SuperDisk
        Zip 250
        10 gig harddrive
        DVD-ROM/CD-RW
        Not to mention, the obligatory extra battery...  :)

The larger screen doesn't hurt either...  :)
