Hey, Todd. I've got an old Wallstreet like yours. I upgraded the CPU to a BlueChip 466, added some RAM (160M total now), upgraded the HD to a 10G, and it runs OS X just fine. (Don't know whether OS X would run on the original CPU, as I upgraded some time ago). Thanks to hints from others, I was directed to a 3d pty driver for an Orinoco wireless card, and now this old Wallstreet is wireless under OS X. Solid as a rock.
Hint for upcoming trouble: Beware the power manager board. Apparently this is a common failure, and will give you unstable battery charging, etc. I had mine replaced some time ago, and it is a bit pricey ($200 - $300). There's no substitute for replacing it, though, if you want to run under battery. You might also check into the particulars of your model regarding internal backup battery. I thought mine was dead, too, but then I found out that there is no internal backup battery in mine. It just needs some life in the main battery in order to keep its settings. If the battery is totally discharged, like if it sits for a few months, you'll lose the time and date, etc. Rod At 09:19 AM 4/29/02 -0400, you wrote: >Date: Sun, 28 Apr 2002 20:04:52 -0400 >From: Todd Moody <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >Subject: my intro >Message-id: <RLB6ZKG41ZXHC5YH3XIDYSRQ1T0OL.3ccc8e24@larry> > >Hey fellow PB owners, > > >Next stop: OS X 10.1.
